ONLINE CLASSES USING ZOOM
Dear Parents,
I hope you are all well, healthy and comfortable at home.
I have been keeping myself very busy transferring my classes online as this will potentially be the new normal for Term Two.
I would love all the Bouncy Ballerinas to continue their lessons and have some type of routine during this time of stress and uncertainty.
I have decided to go through Zoom for the online classes as its simple to use, live and retains the most interaction with the kids.
The Classes will be held on the original days Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday with slight changes to the class times.
Bouncy & Balletic Ballerinas classes will run for 40 minutes & Bubba Ballerinas will run for 30 minutes.
Term Two is a ten week term making our final day June 27th.
The Term has been broken into 2 week blocks. Saturday Classes will have 1 less week (class) to begin with as Week One falls on ANZAC Day (April 25th) and no classes will be streaming.
Once Enrolled, the day prior to each class you will be sent an email with a link and password. Simply click the link and it will ask you to download the zoom app if you have not already done so.
This app can be used on your smart phone, laptop, computer i-pad or tablet device.
To Get the most out of your online class I highly recommend mirroring your device on your Tv if your able to do so.
If you haven’t connected a device to your tv before I have some hopefully helpful tips that I used to connect my I Phone and MacBook to my tv.
To connect my I phone I selected the screen mirroring function on the I phone and then selected my Tv when it appeared. The tv has to be on and connected to the same WIFI as your Device for this to work. The screen mirroring button is shown below. If you have trouble below is a link to a YouTube video to explain other options.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rGniF02F4_4 Instructions for I phone linking to Tv.
As for my MacBook I downloaded a free app called Just Stream. Once installed on my MacBook I simply opened it and was able to connect to my tv. Once again the tv was on and on the same WIFI as my MacBook.
As for android and other devices I don’t have any experience using and don’t have any advice unfortunately. That said googling how to mirror my device on my tv worked for me and hopefully it will be helpful for all of you. If I discover more helpful information Ill pass it forward.
I’m looking forward to having a little chat to the girls before the class starts as I have missed them all so much.
With your email link I will also be sending you a Prop list with an Art and craft idea.
The Art and craft idea is just something fun for the kids to do if they wish.
The prop list will be a list of props I will be dancing with throughout the class. I encourage your little dancer to be creative and imaginative with props if they don’t have something specific.
Make it fun … Maybe go on a Prop hunt? Make sure props are close by for your ballerina to pick up when needed throughout the class.
Please set your child up in a safe place and not on concrete. You will need to guide and watch your child whilst they are dancing and choosing props and costumes to dance with/in.
I have been learning and adapting to this new lifestyle and way of teaching and will continue to grow with your help online.
I Look Forward To Seeing You All In Class
Stay safe,
Rachel
